Junior sides yay, seniors sides nay.

Weekly update on what's coming up for BOE CC, plus results from last week. Full details for all training and fixtures can be found within Pitchero.

Senior Cricket This Week (10 - 16 June):

  • WEDNESDAY - Training at Barn Elms Sports Trust from 7-9pm, Bank Blitz T20 XI vs Sinjuns CC (away) - 6pm start.
  • SATURDAY - 1st XI vs South Nutfield (home), 2nd XI vs Staines & Laleham (away), 3rd XI vs London Erratics (home).
  • SUNDAY - Sunday XI vs Maori Oxshott (away).

Senior Cricket Last Week (3 - 9 June):

  • 1st XI lost vs Teddington Town by 120 runs (scorecard here) in Surrey County League 1st XI Division 2 (table here). The opposition got off to a flyer at 50/0 from 6 overs and never really looked back, racking up 250/6 from 45 overs with some powerful hitting. In response Bank collapsed from 33/1 to to 57/9 effectively marking the end of the match as a contest. Mark Streather entered the fray at no 11 after sustaining a finger injury whilst wicket-keeping and proceeded to make the game look much easier. A stand of 74 for the last wicket between Streather (51 not out) and Merriman (17) added some pride, before the final wicket eventually fell with the score on 131.
  • 2nd XI lost vs Teddington Town by 4 wickets (scorecard here) in Surrey County League 2nd XI Division 1 (table here). Debarshi Roy (50) & Mike Broughton (44) helped Bank to 154 all out to set a competitive target. The opposition reached 93/5 and the game was in the balance, but sadly Bank couldn't find the final few wickets to force a win.
  • 3rd XI lost vs Old Wimbledonians by 9 wickets (scorecard here) in Surrey Championship 3rd XI Division 6 Central (table here). Bank batting fell apart with just 35 all out, with five batters all collecting ducks. Rafa Jackson-Garica claimed the only wicket to fall in a heavy 9 wicket defeat.
  • Sunday XI drew vs Flying Ducksmen (scorecard here) after the opposition posted an imposing 253/2 declared. The chase was on thanks to a magnificent 111 from just 77 balls by Joe Hicks, but once he departed runs were harder to come by. The game ended in an honourable draw as Bank held on to avoid defeat.
  • Bank Blitz T20 XI lost vs Nickers Off by 20 runs (scorecard here) in Surrey Slam Plate Group 3. The opposition hit 163/4, but Bank kept up with the required run rate thanks to a rapid 42 from Shahrukh Nawaz. Alas we ran out of puff and finished on 143/7 to finish 20 runs short.
