Senior Cricket This Week (20 - 27 May):

  • WEDNESDAY - Training at Barn Elms Sports Trust is now from 7-9pm as the light is better.
  • THURSDAY - Bank Blitz T20 XI vs Mitcham (away) in the Surrey Slam T20 competition - 6pm start.
  • SATURDAY - 1st XI vs Wandgas (away), 2nd XI vs Sheen Park (home), 3rd XI vs Hampton Hill (away).
  • SUNDAY - Sunday XI vs XPSG (away).
  • MONDAY - Bank Blitz T20 XI vs Wimbledon (away) in the Surrey Slam T20 competition - 6pm start.

Senior Cricket Last Week (13 - 19 May):

  • 1st XI lost vs Sutton Challengers by 9 wickets (scorecard here) in Surrey County League 1st XI Division 2 (table here). Bank were struggling at 10/5 in part thanks to three contentious umpiring decisions. Ak Sivaraman (22) top scored but 45 all out was woefully under par. Andrew Merriman (1/20) took the sole wicket in a heavy defeat.
  • 2nd XI lost vs Sutton Challengers by 8 wickets (scorecard here) in Surrey County League 2nd XI Division 1 (table here). Aarya Chaughule (32 not out) battled hard but was left without much support from the rest of the line up. Nathan Vince (1/25) took a first BOE wicket but the opposition made light work of the required total.
  • 3rd XI lost vs Hampton Wick Royal by 7 wickets (scorecard here) in Surrey Championship 3rd XI Division 6 Central (table here). Mark Hunnable (31) laid a platform with the help of youngers Samuel Chadwick (28) and Will Saich (28 on senior debut) to post a reasonable 128/7 from 40 overs. Bank were committed in the field with the result in doubt for large periods of the innings, but their no 4 bat took the game away towards the end. A fine effort and something the 1s and 2s could learn a lot from...
  • Sunday XI drew vs Merton (scorecard here). A good team performance restricted Merton to 136/8 declared, with the wickets shared around amongst the bowlers. Samuel Chadwick (28) top scored but a Bank collapse from 52/0 to 73/8 prompted a change of tactics. Skipper Mo Dilshad and Andrew Woolley helped ensure a draw as honours were shared.
  • 1st XI Cup lose vs Sheen Park by 7 wickets (scorecard here) in Surrey Slam Plate Group 3 (table here). Bank recovered from 7/3 to post 105/9 with Henry Peirse (23) top scoring. This looked to be 20 runs short of par and Sheen Park confirmed this, winning with 10 balls to spare.

Weekly MVP - Samuel Chadwick
