Sunshine at last as the league season begins.

Weekly update on what's coming up for BOE CC, plus results from last week. Full details for all training and fixtures can be found within Pitchero.

Senior Cricket This Week (13 - 19 May):

The league season continues and 1st XI T20 Cup action.

  • WEDNESDAY - Training at Barn Elms Sports Trust is now from 7-9pm as the light is better.
  • WEDNESDAY - 1st XI vs Sheen Park (away) in the SCL T20 Cup - 5.30pm start.
  • SATURDAY - 1st XI vs Sutton Challengers (home), 2nd XI vs Sutton Challengers (away), 3rd XI vs Hampton Wick Royal (home).
  • SUNDAY - Sunday XI vs Merton (away).

Senior Cricket Last Week (6 - 12 May):

  • 1st XI lost vs Old Tiffinians by 91 runs (scorecard here) in Surrey County League 1st XI Division 2 (table here). Old Tiffinians scored 205/7 from their 45 overs despite the best efforts of Ak Sivaraman (3/43). In response the Bank batting struggled to 114 all out with Mark Streather (23) top scoring. The match was much closer than the final result implies so we look forward to next week.
  • 2nd XI lost vs Chobham by 9 wickets (scorecard here) in Surrey County League 2nd XI Division 1 (table here). Umair Ansari (31) helped Bank to 101 all out, before Chobham ran out easy winners by 9 wickets, although Steve Bastian's wonder ball to claim the only wicket was a sight to behold.
  • 3rd XI lost vs Roehampton by 6 wickets (scorecard here) in Surrey Championship 3rd XI Division 6 Central (table here). Captain John Jackson (67) ensured Bank set a competitive 152 and the evergreen Richard Down (3/30) had the opposition struggling at 67/4. Unfortunately their antipodean all rounder (61 not out and 4/23) proved to be the difference between the sides despite a valiant effort by the Bank men.
  • Sunday XI lost vs Claygate by 119 runs (scorecard here). Claygate racked up 200/5 declared with Yahya Soofi (2/39) the pick of the bowlers. Skipper Mo Dilshad (30) did his best but Bank crumbled to 81 all out in a heavy defeat.
  • Blitz T20 XI lose vs Sinjuns by 100 runs (scorecard here) in Surrey Slam Plate Group 3 (table here). Sinjuns won the entire competition last year and showed why as they smashed 221/3 from their 20 overs with some brutal power hitting. Shahrukh Nawaz's rapid 46 was the batting highlight as Bank finished comfortably short on 121 all out.

Weekly MVP - John Jackson
